The germicidal UV-C marketplace is highly fragmented and chaotic.
There is relatively little patent history in the field and ample scope
exists for establishing barriers to entry through umbrella patents
on key market segments and emerging technologies. Furthermore, there
is a general lack of consistent standards for product performance
rating and testing, and government regulation is almost non-existent.
UVLSG is committed to bringing scientific and engineering excellence
to the ultraviolet field. The Company has just executed a
Master Research Collaboration with McGill University to ensure the
institution and maintenance of consistent standards of excellence
in all of our product research and development activities.
Further, McGill has significant depth of multidisciplinary expertise
at, a world-class organization with highly respected schools of engineering,
medicine and veterinary medicine. A highly industry-friendly environment,
McGill approaches product research and development on a strict project
management model, allowing UVLSG to develop, prototype and test multiple
products concurrently with low overhead - and enabling the Company
to drive an industry-leading product pipeline with consistent scientific
standards. UV-C products are inherently environmentally friendly and
are 100% chemical-free. Furthermore, there is no microbial
resistance to UV-C light - ALL micro-organisms are vulnerable and
remain vulnerable - with no possibility of developing resistance,
unlike many antibiotics, antivirals and even chemical disinfectants.
UVLSG product development is highly efficient due to the inherent
scalability of our products. Greater energy throughput is easier to
achieve through larger devices with increased UV-C intensity. Finally,
the germicidal UV-C field is a rapidly expanding market for products
that address the needs and fears related to enhanced biosecurity in
agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing and national defense.
Our Focus
UV Light Sciences Group is committed to becoming the leading inventor
of light-based products for infection prevention and control . To
meet this goal, UVLSG will:
• Continue to develop and acquire foundational patents
in key product domains.
• Be active in establishing patentable intellectual property
in the development, process, and manufacturing of UV-C LED semiconductors
other technologies (delete) that are critical to the next generation
of germicidal UV products.
• Establish a world class knowledge hub to provide education,
product training, performance assessment, and end-user product
certification for the industry.
• Collaborate with McGill University and other world-class
institutions to ensure that our products benefit from the highest
standards of scientific and engineering excellence.
Our Goal
By establishing significant barriers to entry, a full suite of products and services, along with appropriate manufacturing resources to control production expenses, and with a complete knowledge hub for market support, UVLS will seek to obtain a dominant portion of the germicidal UV market. As such, our goal is to be able to essentially choose the other players/partners in the industry.
